Angelo Alcasabas (pronounced alka·sa·bas) has been a professional graphic designer since 2004, and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY. After earning his BFA (Summa Cum Laude) in Graphic Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), he worked as a designer with award winning art director Anthony Rutka at Rutka Weadock Design (Baltimore, MD), and continued his career at Ashton Design. During his 6 years at Ashton, he became proficient in print, environmental graphic design, and web, and worked with such clients as the Boston Red Sox, Under Armour, and Johns Hopkins University. While working full time, Angelo has designed projects for Chronicle Books in San Francisco, CA, and has taught as an adjunct professor at Towson University as well as MICA in Baltimore, MD. Angelo has also collaborated with the founders of the renowned studio, Post Typography, where he was a part-time designer. During the summer of 2012, he worked as a package designer for Gaby Brink, founder of Tomorrow Partners, a well-known design/branding firm in the Bay area. He currently works as the Art Director for Cake, a creative marketing agency. When not in front of a computer, he enjoys traveling, cooking, EATING, singing karaoke, playing the ukulele, and practicing his salsa moves.
